The end of the festive season in October and November was very good for automobile manufacturers, as sales were significantly higher compared to the previous year. Specifically, there was a 19% increase on YOY basis from 328,862 units to 390,657 units.
Maruti Suzuki leads the industry with 170,970 units on a monthly basis, a slight decline from the previous 176,318 units. Tata Motors holds the second rank with sales of 57,436 units, driven by the Punch and Nexon sales. Additionally, its monthly sales have also seen a slight decline.
Mahindra secured third position with sales of 56,336 units, reflecting an annual rise of about 22%. The demand was driven by the XUV700, Bolero, and Thar.Hyundai sold 503,40 units, driven by high demand for the Creta, although the company experienced a slight decline in monthly sales.
Toyota registered a growth of 19.47%, with sales of 30,585 units. The demand for the Innova Hycross remained high. Kia is last on the list but due to high demand of Seltos,Sonets and Carens it has achieved robust growth of 24% YOY basis by selling 25,489 units.
Finally, the data shows that the Indian automobile industry is growing rapidly, with strong demand, especially in the SUV segment. Thanks to the expanding economy, people have more purchasing power, which is driving high demand. This trend is beneficial not only for the industry but also for the overall economy.
